Are you passionate about supporting learners with specific needs and making education accessible for all? Coastland College is seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to join our Learning Support team as an Access Arrangement and Reasonable Adjustments Assessor.

About the Role

In this vital role, you will assess and support students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive the appropriate exam access arrangements in line with JCQ regulations. You'll work collaboratively across departments, provide expert guidance, and help shape an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and screenings for exam access arrangements.
  • Produce formal documentation to support JCQ compliance.
  • Liaise with academic and support staff to ensure tailored student support.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions for college staff.
  • Evaluate service impact and contribute to annual reporting.
  • Promote safeguarding and uphold college values.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia/SpLD.
  • PATOSS Professional Practicing Certificate.
  • Level 5 qualification in specialist assessment support.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, JCQ regulations, and the Equality Act 2010.
  • Excellent report writing and IT skills, including Microsoft 365.

Desirable:

  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification.
  • Membership in professional bodies (e.g., PATOSS, BDA).
  • Understanding of high needs funding and DSA.

Personal Attributes:

  • Empathetic and student-focused.
  • Flexible, resilient, and able to manage workload independently.
  • Willingness to travel between campuses (own car and clean UK driving license required).
