A fixed term contract post is available for a Post-CCT MSK fellow in MSK and Trauma Imaging in the Department of Radiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The applicant should possess FRCR or equivalent and be able to start in August 2026. This post is for a fixed term duration of one year until August 2027.

The goals and objectives of the fellowship are to gain subspecialty experience in Musculoskeletal and Trauma imaging at a tertiary orthopaedic and major trauma centre. Alongside clinical exposure, this post strongly encourages research, quality improvement and teaching involvement.

The imaging department is based across three sites in West London (Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital) and offers comprehensive experience in musculoskeletal and major trauma imaging.

(a) The purpose of this post is to provide broad training in Musculoskeletal & Trauma radiology. The fellow will be expected to:

i) Work with the consultants and specialist registrars (SpRs) to fulfil the clinical obligations of the department.

ii) Participate in research projects.

iii) Quality improvement and audit activity.

iv) Participate in formal and informal teaching to SpRs, medical students and ancillary medical personnel.

(b) Clinical Commitment: The fellow will initially be under the direct supervision of a consultant but will have a more autonomous role as they gain experience.

(c) On Call: Participation in the senior fellow on-call rota (approximately 1:6). This would be to support the first on junior radiology registrars. Services include tertiary level multi-modality imaging in hyperacute stroke and neurosurgery, vascular imaging (including for renal and pancreatic transplant assessment), Level 1 major trauma, and all areas of general radiology.

Applications are invited for a fixed term Post-CCT MSK and Trauma radiology fellow. The fellow will work closely alongside an established team of consultant MSK and Trauma radiologists.

The successful candidate will have completed formal training in radiology, and previous experience in MSK and trauma imaging is welcomed. Fellows will gain comprehensive exposure to diagnostic plain film, US, CT and MRI, and will also obtain experience in a broad range of MSK procedures including spinal intervention. The fellow will be also expected to contribute to major trauma meetings and the general work of the department which includes participation in the fellow on-call rota.

An interest in training and research is strongly encouraged, and fellows are invited to organise and participate in regular teaching activities for other trainees in the department.
