We are looking for an experienced qualified or part qualified Payroll accountant to join the finance team in this period of change. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business playing a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager to maintain accurate financial records, comply with reporting standards. This role requires attention to detail, analytical skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements. This role will require post holder to have strong working knowledge of payroll accounting.

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Supporting the Finance Manager to manage the month-end Payroll accounting close processes for Mace.
  • Reviewing and reconciling payroll balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation and support for all balances, highlighting as required areas of risks and opportunity.
  • Working closely with the Payroll team to ensure all information is obtained on a timely basis to help determine correct accounting treatment.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Driving process improvement initiatives to ensure best practice.
  • Preparation of other management information as required by the business.
  • Ad hoc tasks as required.

You'll Need To Have

  • Profession accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
  • Intermediate excel user.
  • Experience preparing Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience with project costing and posting internal recharges.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Able to work using own initiative.
