Alton Towers Resort is seeking an exceptional commercial leader to join our senior team as Head of Commercial. This is a high-impact role at the heart of the Resort's strategy, responsible for driving commercial performance, elevating guest experience, and shaping the next chapter of growth for one of Merlin Entertainments' flagship destinations.

Overseeing all secondary revenue streams including Retail, 3rd Party Partners (Games and Photography), VIP, FastTrack, and other commercial touchpoints you will lead the delivery of a cohesive, innovative, and data-driven commercial operation that delights guests and delivers outstanding financial results.

You will work closely with both Resort leadership and Merlin's global Commercial Excellence function to align local execution with the wider strategic vision, bringing best-in-class thinking and commercial innovation to the Resort.

What you'll be doing

  • Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
  • Develop and deliver the Resort's commercial strategy across retail, games, photography, VIP, FastTrack, and wider secondary spend areas.
  • Translate global Merlin initiatives into outstanding local execution, consistently exceeding commercial targets.
  • Drive revenue through insight-led decision-making, pricing excellence, innovation, and strategic business planning.
  • Lead partnership management and supplier relationships, ensuring commercial success and adherence to brand standards.
  • Support the recruitment, development, and progression of the wider commercial team, ensuring the function is fit for the future.


Qualifications & Experience

What you'll bring

  • Significant senior experience in commercial strategy, revenue management, or multi-channel operations within leisure, hospitality, retail, or entertainment.
  • A track record of delivering strong commercial growth through data-led insight and innovation.
  • Experience leading large commercial teams and managing multi-million-pound P&Ls.
  • Strength in stakeholder management, contract negotiation, and partner relationship leadership.
  • Deep understanding of pricing, commercial systems, and guest experience optimisation.
