Role description:

As the Energy Transition lead for England and Wales, you will be driving the growth of our energy transition efforts in collaboration with the UK Solution Lead Energy Transition, the UK Sales Director, and the UK Market Sector Lead for Energy & Resources. This is an exciting time to be part of the solution to a challenge that's impacting every sector and country globally. Arcadis' and GBA Resilience's #1 ambition for growth is to grow Arcadis' Energy Transition with plans for the UK to be a key driver in this growth in a market that has not been fully tapped into yet. We will accelerate our ambitions, and you will play a big part in that.

In this role you will report into the Resilience UK&I Sales Director and will be given the opportunity to develop new business using your own and Arcadis global network. You will be someone who identifies as an expert in the Energy Transition, has a strong network and has in depth knowledge about client requirements at the board level and the ability to co-create with clients and set up strategic collaborations with ecosystem-partners.

As a Strategic Business Development Lead you will be passionate about "connecting the dots" and have an entrepreneurial mind that drives the development of our UK and global service offering. Because you will be guiding overall strategy in the English and Welsh Transition journey, you will quickly use and grow your network, get a good understanding of our strategy and the opportunity to be active in different parts of the organization.

Role accountabilities:

  • Work with the Global Solutions Director Energy Transition, UK Sales Director, and the National Solution Leader Energy Transition to drive integration of energy transition considerations into all proposals and projects.
  • Explore new topics in cooperation with energy transition support staff such as floating wind and link client conversations and outcomes regarding the energy transition solution with technical staff and account leaders.
  • Growth of Energy Transition, English and Welsh key client accounts in Resilience to contribute to the Business Plan and enable us to (over) achieve the overall growth strategy.
  • Provide a supportive environment through which high performance can be achieved.
  • Negotiate critical issues with clients and develop strategic teaming partnerships and subconsultants.
  • Co-create and develop a global network across your energy transition discipline and leverage client relationships across disciplines and sectors, including working with our centers of excellence to build subject matter expertise that can be utilised globally.
  • Travel to meet clients and colleagues as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Energy Transition: Extensive knowledge of the UK Energy Transition market and experience of influencing at senior level.
  • Entrepreneurial: Highly developed commercial acumen ability to lead and close complex negotiation with a flair to identifying innovative and mutually beneficial solutions. Proven track record of developing new business.
  • Demonstrable client development skills, including in developing a coherent multi-practice and multi-jurisdictional strategy for developing complex corporate client relationships at board level and multi-millionvalue in the Energy market.
  • Breadth of experience: Working internationally, across different industries and business lines and/or functions, managing projects impacting people/issues/solutions across organizational boundaries.
  • Driving innovation: Involved in generating and driving innovation, engaging with clients on new business models and revenue streams, working with alliances and ecosystems to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Leading transformation: Ability to bring people on a journey to the unknown, creating a sense of stability and security in uncertain times, avoiding change fatigue.
