Role Overview:

The Staff Product Manager is a senior individual contributor who will lead the squad responsible for our foundational platform. The ambition is twofold: to accelerate our internal engineering teams by providing world-class developer tools and to build a scalable, secure external access layer for third-party developers. This role is crucial for our transformation into a modern, product-led, and developer-friendly organization. You'll be the product lead for a highly technical platform area, influencing a broad range of teams and strategies beyond your immediate squad.

This role reports to the Head of Product. You won't be managing a team, but you will be the go-to product lead for your squad of engineers and designers. You'll collaborate closely with other key players across the organization, including engineering, architecture, and security teams, as well as with external third-party developers and partners.

Your Daily Quest (Key Responsibilities):

  • Champion internal developer enablement, defining the strategy for tools and services that improve our engineering teams' speed, safety, and confidence.
  • Define and manage the external access layer, creating a secure and governed API Gateway that empowers third-party developers to integrate independently.
  • Lead the creation of our Developer Portal, a central hub for authentication, onboarding, and discovering APIs and SDKs.
  • Establish a consistent API publishing workflow for all internal squads, ensuring quality and governance as we scale our external offerings.
  • Guide decisions using data, leveraging DORA metrics and qualitative feedback to measure success and ensure our platform is continually improving.

The Secret Sauce (Key Experience & Skills):

  • Specific experience: You've been a Staff or Principal Product Manager in a developer-facing, platform, or infrastructure role. You have a deep understanding of developer platforms and API ecosystems, with experience in both internal productivity and external integration.
  • Sector knowledge: You have technical fluency in areas like CI/CD, observability, API gateways, and infrastructure-as-code. Bonus points if you understand modern product operating models and a passion for empowering engineering teams.
  • Unicorn skills: You have the ability to thrive in ambiguity and bring clarity, structure, and direction to complex, technical environments.

What Will Make You Shine At Wireless Logic (Behaviours & Culture) :
  • A collaborative leadership style that builds alignment and gets the best out of cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, architecture, and security.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to provide clarity and direction in ambiguous or complex environments.
  • Accountability and professionalism to own and drive projects from start to finish.
  • A positive, can-do attitude that's infectious and motivates those around you.
  • The passion and motivation to help shape the foundation of Wireless Logic's next chapter.

Your Objectives for the Year:

Accelerate our internal teams. Implement a trusted suite of developer tools and services to enable our engineering teams to ship software faster, with fewer errors, and with better observability.
Enable external partners. Deliver a world-class external access layer, including a Developer Portal and governed API Gateway, to empower third-party developers to self-serve and integrate seamlessly.
Improve developer satisfaction. Drive measurable improvements in developer satisfaction (both internal and external), focusing on key metrics like deployment frequency and integration success.
