SEN ICT Teacher – Well-Resourced School – Hammersmith

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative and accessible ICT lessons that cater to a variety of learning needs and abilities.
  • Teach students essential computer skills, including typing, coding, digital literacy, and problem-solving, in ways that build confidence and independence.
  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching materials to ensure differentiation and inclusivity for students with diverse needs.
  • Utilize the school's state-of-the-art technology and resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to develop individual learning plans (ILPs) and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Provide one-on-one support and small group instruction to address specific challenges and promote progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in teaching ICT to students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of how to adapt ICT curriculum to meet the individual needs of SEN students, including those with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage students and collaborate with colleagues and parents.
  • A passion for technology and its potential to empower students and enhance learning experiences.
  • Experience using assistive technologies and innovative teaching methods to support SEN learners is highly desirable.
  • A clear DBS check and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
