Sort Team Leader – Parcel Sort Centre

Location: Wednesbury Sort Centre (Yodel Site)

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (Various shift patterns 17:30 - 02:00 / 18:30 - 03:00 / 19:30 - 04:00) 40hrs per week 

Salary: £27,061 pa (+ 20% Shift Allowance for any hours worked between 22:00 - 06:00) 

Contract: Permanent

What You'll Be Doing:

As one of our Sort Team Leaders, you'll play a vital role in the nightly success of our sortation operation. Reporting to the Sort Team Managers, you'll provide regular updates on performance and lead a team of Sorter Loadersto ensure parcels are loaded and unloaded accurately, safely, and on time.

You'll be hands-on, coordinating parcel flow and making sure all team members are working efficiently. Whether it's scanning, sorting, or loading, your leadership will help drive accuracy, pace, and productivity across the operation.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Sorter Loaders on shift.
  • Ensure parcels are correctly scanned and sorted to the appropriate trailers.
  • Manually sort parcels into correct loading bays with accuracy.
  • Check for parcel mis-sorts, damages, or scanning issues.
  • Communicate effectively with the Sort Team Managers and escalate any issues as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area in line with site H&S procedures.

  • A proactive and hands-on approach to tasks in all areas of the sort centre.
  • Strong attention to detail to help reduce errors and ensure parcel quality.
  • Confidence in communicating with team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness to work in a physically active and fast-paced environment.
