ServiceNow Principal Architect & Technical Lead

A global technology consultancy is seeking an experienced
ServiceNow Principal Architect & Technical Lead
to join its Professional Services team. This position serves as a
Subject Matter Expert (SME)
, responsible for overseeing complex technical implementations, ensuring customer value realization, and defining best-in-class delivery standards.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing future service offerings, driving innovation within the ServiceNow practice, and mentoring technical teams.

Core Responsibilities

ServiceNow Implementation Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of complex ServiceNow implementations, ensuring outcomes align with client business objectives and value realization.
  • Translate detailed business requirements into scalable, high-level technical designs following ServiceNow and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the technical design authority across all aspects of the ServiceNow platform implementation.

Technical & Team Development

  • Mentor and coach junior team members on ServiceNow architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of internal methodologies, frameworks, and standardized service delivery approaches.
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications across core ServiceNow products, particularly within the ITSM suite.

Strategy & Compliance

  • Operate within Agile/Scrum methodologies to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA) within enterprise service management environments.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Technical & Platform Expertise

  • ServiceNow Expertise:
    4–5 years of hands-on ServiceNow implementation experience, with a proven ability to lead large-scale ITSM projects.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud:
    Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP), cybersecurity, and enterprise networking.
  • Integration & Development:
    Proficient in APIs, web services, and integration tools for connecting ServiceNow with other enterprise applications.
  • Programming:
    Solid skills in Java, JavaScript, and related technologies for customization and integration work.

Leadership & Qualifications

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 7 years in technology design and implementation roles.
  • Leadership:
    Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor technical staff, and manage complex client engagements.
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Certifications (Mandatory)

  • ITIL V4 Foundation
    (minimum).
  • Advanced
    ServiceNow certifications
    (e.g., Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Certified Master Architect (CMA), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)).
  • Cloud Architect-level certification
    on a major platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Salary - Up to £150,000 per annum + bonus

Work Model - Ideally Hybrid 2 days a week in London (can be flexible)
