This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £32,962 – £36,791 per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Community Development Officer to join our Communities team.

The Role
This is an exciting role working directly with residents to connect them with local support services and the voluntary sector. You will listen, understand their needs, and connect them with local services that promote independence and wellbeing. Working alongside adult social care teams, you will help shape personalised plans that reduce reliance on statutory services. This role reports to the Community Prevention Manager but will work closely with adult social care teams.

Your Role Will Involve
Acting as the first point of contact for residents approaching Adult Social Care, listening to their needs and providing clear, information and advice about community-based support.

Keeping updated with local services, voluntary sector organisations, and self-help activities that promote independence and wellbeing, to effectively signpost residents

Working closely with the wider Adults, Health & Communities directorate, to embed community-based solutions across different teams

What We Are Looking For
Someone who has worked directly with residents, customers, or service users in a supportive or advisory role

Someone who has excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify practical solutions

Someone with strong communication skills

Someone who is able to work in a fast-paced environment and is willing to get involved in a range of different projects
