ISQ Recruitment is supporting a Norfolk-based engineering company that is looking to bring in a Production Engineer with strong tooling and CAD experience.

This is a hands-on role focused on designing and improving jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production scale-up. You'll work closely with engineers and shop floor teams, using Creo (essential) and FEA to create practical, production-ready solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and build quality.

We're open on background — you might currently be a Production Engineer, Tooling Engineer, or CAD Designer with jig/fixture experience. What's important is experience designing tooling for real-world manufacturing and an interest in practical, hands-on engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and optimising tooling, jigs, fixtures, and lifting aids.
  • Reviewing existing tooling and suggesting improvements for safety, efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Supporting prototype builds and build trials alongside engineers and technicians.
  • Using Creo + FEA to develop and validate tooling designs.
  • Improving build sequences and helping reduce changeover/setup times.
  • Assisting with workplace layout, lean activities, and process improvements.
  • Supporting operators and engineers with tooling-related issues on the shop floor.
  • Contributing to light documentation such as work instructions or process notes.

What We're Looking For
Essential

  • Experience in a production, tooling, or hands-on engineering role.
  • Strong experience designing jigs, fixtures, or tooling.
  • Proficiency in Creo CAD (mandatory) and confident with FEA.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work closely with technicians.
  • Practical, problem-solving mindset and comfortable being hands-on.
  • Own transport due to site location.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Background in lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of basic test rigs or small equipment tooling.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, tooling layouts, or quality/process documentation.

Why Join?

  • Work on varied, interesting projects with visible impact.
  • See your designs used directly on the shop floor.
  • Hands-on engineering with a good mix of CAD, design, and production support.
  • Monday to Friday days — no shift work.
  • Supportive, well-run engineering business with long-term potential.
