Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust Full time £40,000 - £80,000 per year

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and want to reflect the diversity of our local communities within our teams. We welcome applications from all talented individuals with the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience

Job overview
  • This role will be supported by a £12,000 relocation allowance
  • 'Holiday of a lifetime scheme': Consultants and SASG doctors can bank/accrue annual leave over a period of up to 5 years, to facilitate an extended period of leave. The scheme enables the opportunity for planning a 'holiday of a lifetime' or extended paid break

We are inviting applications for a Speciality Doctor post working in the Norfolk and Waveney child and adolescent eating disorders service. This post is based at The Lighthouse Centre, Hellesdon, Norwich. Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) offer eating disorders services to those under 18 across Norfolk and Waveney. The service caters to a population of approximately 1.1 million. The service complements the existing CAMHS services who manage other severe psychiatric conditions.

An alternative provider (Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust) runs the over 18 services.

Main duties of the job

Eating disorder services across the Trust are a specialist service hosted by the West Suffolk Locality Group. They are overseen by the West Suffolk leadership triumvirate, which includes Dr David Nelson (Medical Director), Elaine Deazley-Morgan (Director of Operations) and Daisy Mudoni (Director of Nursing).

The post holder will be working with the multidisciplinary team in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of referred patients. They will also take part in team meetings, supervision and development within the Norfolk and Waveney child and adolescent eating disorders team.

The post holder will undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances and to be available for such irregular commitments outside normal duties as are essential for continuity of patient care which will on occasion involve seeing people at home and allowing time for 'hard to engage' service users.
