Community Support Worker

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Autism and Learning disabilities including ADHD.
Duties
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Administering medication as prescribed and ensuring proper documentation.
- Supporting clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
- Assisting with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours.
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Engaging in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care including inpatient settings.
- Care certificate and training in first aid is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
- Previous experience in caregiving or home care is advantageous but not essential; we welcome those willing to learn.
