This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with specific health needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia.
Duties
- Deliver personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility assistance.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with behaviour management and engage clients in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
- Conduct light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Document care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while providing care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly desirable.
- Certification in first aid is an advantage.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers.
- A valid driving licence is required for this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A caring attitude towards others and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
