Duties

  • Deliver personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility assistance.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Assist with behaviour management and engage clients in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
  • Conduct light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while providing care.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in assisted living, or home care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly desirable.
  • Certification in first aid is an advantage.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers.
  • A valid driving licence is required for this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • A caring attitude towards others and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
