Position Title: Senior Analyst, Transactions and Portfolio Management UK
Corporate Title: Senior Associate
Department: Real Estate
Location: London
The successful candidate will be highly proficient in excel, with experience of model construction and underwriting. Ideally with 3 to 5 years experience in the UK real estate industry having worked for either property companies, consultancy firms or institutional fund managers.
Primary responsibilities in Transactions include:
- Work within the UK Acquisitions team in the underwriting and due diligence of new investments, across sectors and risk profiles (core through to value add/opportunistic);
- developing and maintaining financial models to underwrite new deals and to monitor ongoing investment performance;
- preparation of detailed investment memos to be presented to the investment committee;
- working with Transaction and Asset Management teams, assist with the preparation of business plans;
- assisting with investment due diligence including co-ordinating third-party service providers (especially technical advisers) and reviewing due diligence reports;
- assist the Transaction and Asset Management teams with ongoing financial analysis of existing and potential assets; and
- act as a financial modelling resource to develop team members' knowledge of the models.
Required skills and experience:
- Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of other European languages will be a plus;
- strong communication skills both verbally and in writing;
- ability to work and think independently;
- keen attention to detail;
- understanding of property investment appraisal techniques;
- advanced excel modelling skills at property and ideally fund level;
- ability to identify risk in new and / or existing transactions and to effectively develop and implement mitigation strategies; and
- ability to work collaboratively.

Qualifications and experience
Barings is looking for a graduate with two-to-five-year relevant real estate experience.
