Smart Kids Nursery, located in Birmingham City Centre, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Preschool Practitioner to join our established early years team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is committed to providing high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 3–5 years.

About the Role:

As a Preschool Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning and development within our Preschool Room. You will be responsible for creating a stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and school readiness. Your duties will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering structured and creative activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Observing, assessing, and recording children's progress, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Building positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Supporting children's personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health, safety, and hygiene at all times.
  • Contributing to team planning meetings and communication within the room.

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, and genuinely passionate about early years education. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or early years environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
