Job Title: Stock Control Manager

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

JOB PURPOSE: Lead, Manage and Maintain the Stock Control Team & System

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Full accountability for the Stock Control department on Site
  • To control and highlight risks to service.
  • To build a team with a structured, organised and efficiently work approach to agreed timescales.
  • To ensure our customer queries are investigated and dealt with in a timely fashion.
  • To prepare any reports and checks as required by Management.
  • Review, maintain and execute processes within the department.
  • To work in close liaison with Transport, Warehouse Shift Managers and Warehouse Manager.
  • To communicate to other key sites, customers, and personnel to ensure pick stock accuracy is at a high standard 99.7% target, GRN's and Receipt are completed in a timely fashion and issues raised immediately with the relevant information.
  • Complete stock takes, empty slots and randoms checks.
  • Complete MLOR requests.
  • Complete non-conformance reports, investigations, and traceability
  • To update Snap, review and implement processes, review and implement new customers and set-up.
  • To ensure the Stock Controllers (over 4 shifts) are carrying out his duties and assist as and when necessary.
  • To be responsible for the resourcing, recruitment, and training of new and existing members of the Stock Control, update the matrix and update on any new processes.
  • PDRs with the stocks teams
  • Review of bulk, picking locations and update, cleanse as required for old and new SKU's, ensuring Master Data correct and updated.
  • To manage holidays and absence, ensure all shifts are adequately covered.
  • Motivate team to achieve organisational goals.
  • Attending required management and customer meetings.

Health & Safety:

  • To ensure you follow safe working practices.
  • To promptly report all accidents and incidents to your line manager.
  • To assist in accident investigations, as necessary.
  • To ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • To adhere to relevant site rules, QEHS policies and procedures including quality procedures, HACCP, safe systems of work and environmental controls.

Communication:

  • To have effective communication skills and ability to liaise verbally confidently with employees and Management.
  • To listen carefully to instructions.
  • To keep your Line Manager up to date with any work issues that may affect deadlines.

Flexibility and Ad-Hoc:

  • To be flexible to work on a variety of duties, shifts and locations as required.
  • To conduct any other task that is reasonable and within your skill set as business needs dictate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse and distribution environment.
  • Managerial and Leadership experience and qualities
  • Previous experience of stock supervision/stock control.
  • Strong working knowledge of stock control and stock control systems/warehouse management systems.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to listen to and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A good accuracy level is essential.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team as required.
