Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Cyan Partners Full time

Cyan Partners have partnered up exclusively with a rapidly expanding independent gas producer specialising in biomethane generation, upgrading, and grid injection across the UK. The time has now come for them to seek their first in-house Legal Counsel to establish and lead the legal function after expanding from 3 employees to 28 overall in just 18 months.

This is a rare opportunity to build the legal and commercial backbone of a pioneering biomethane business. You'll work directly with senior leadership, report directly into the CEO, influence strategic decisions, manage a broad portfolio of legal responsibilities central to the company's growth, and help shape the UK's transition to low-carbon energy.

This is a pivotal role supporting the company through all stages of the project lifecycle:

  • Project Development & Construction - Lead on the negotiation of EPC and O&M contracts.
  • Commercial, Feedstock & Offtake Arrangements
  • Project Finance, Debt, and Equity Transactions - Advise on corporate structuring, joint ventures, and acquisitions/disposals of project SPVs.
  • Regulatory & Compliance - Ensure compliance with UK and devolved energy, environmental, and gas network regulations, including Ofgem and GGSS requirements.
  • Legal Function Development - Manage external counsel relationships efficiently and cost-effectively.

There is flexibility on offer here as to how often you will come into the office on a weekly basis and your commute will be expensed.

If this is of interest, please don't hesitate to reach out to arrange a confidential conversation via email on .partners or via Linkedin.
