Are you looking for a new and exciting career opportunity helping learners into employment that require language support?

Would you like to genuinely support people into employment and make a difference to their future?

At the Learning into Employment Academy as an Employment and Skills Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for a caseload of learners.

You will be supporting learners aged 19+ into employment.

This will involve identifying and addressing their individual barriers to sustainable and meaningful employment, delivering employment focused training support to groups, and providing 1 to 1 careers information, advice, guidance, and support throughout the programme to help them into long term, meaningful employment.

You will also be contacting local companies and employers to explore job opportunities and build long-term relationships with them for future vacancies.

Experience is essential as an Employment and Skills Advisor to be successful at the Learning into Employment Academy, but you do need to have a positive attitude, a problem-solving mindset, and a great personality. You will be a confident, outgoing, and approachable person.

The successful person will need to hit the ground running but will have full team support to do so. This role would suit somebody with Recruitment / Sales / Client Facing experience, coupled with a supportive, nurturing mindset to champion growth mindsets in others.

You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team who truly support one another in their roles so to ensure all our learners and staff members have the most positive experience when at LiEA.

Key Requirements

  • Hold or be willing to work toward Advice and Guidance NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • GCSE English Language grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Awareness of the local labour market and issues related to job attainment and retention.
  • Previous experience of delivering employment focused advice, guidance and support.
  • Experience in working with a wide range of people with differing needs and aspirations.
  • Previous experience in the delivery of training, ideal but not required.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of Government funded programmes or a willingness to learn
  • Empathetic to the needs of the customer whilst, whilst remaining focused on contractual targets
  • Confident and assertive
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations whilst remaining calm.
