Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, assisting with patient education, and supporting overall oral health. Duties
- Perform professional dental cleaning procedures, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate imaging techniques.
- Conduct oral health assessments and record findings accurately in patient records.
- Provide personalised oral hygiene instructions and advice to patients to promote optimal dental health.
- Assist with the application of fluoride treatments and sealants as required.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilise equipment, and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
- Support the dental team during various procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary considerations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques relevant to dental radiography.
- Excellent understanding of human anatomy, particularly oral cavity structures, to accurately assess patient conditions.
- Effective communication skills to educate patients clearly and empathetically.
- Organised with attention to detail in record keeping and sterilisation procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a professional demeanour.
- Prior experience or familiarity with dental software systems is desirable but not essential. This role requires a qualified Dental Hygienist committed to delivering outstanding patient care while adhering to all health and safety standards. The position offers an engaging environment where your skills will directly contribute to improving patients' oral health outcomes.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £30.00-£80.00 per hour
