Financial Controller – Manufacturing

Northampton (Hybrid - 4 Days a Week in Office)

Up to c.£75,000 Package + Benefits

Our client is a growing PE backed manufacturing business with multiple sites in the UK. Reporting to the Group CFO and managing two direct reports you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the finance department across multiple sites. This is a hands-on leadership role where you can contribute to the business strategy from a financial perspective.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with those controls and latest technical accounting standards.
  • Ensure clear, accurate and timely internal financial reporting (weekly/monthly). Provide value added analysis to ensure that the financial performance of the business is understood by the board of directors. Proactively contribute to corrective action plans to drive and deliver the required business performance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of realistic monthly rolling forecasts. Assist with the preparation of budget assumptions and coordinate consolidation of budget inputs. Prepare budget deliverables.
  • Liaise with IT to optimise system use and maximise efficiency acting as a main contact with the IT department.
  • Improve financial procedures to optimise working capital, ensuring accurate short term cash flow forecasting.

The Individual

You will be a qualified accountant with previous industry accounting experience, ideally with exposure to the manufacturing sector. You will be an effective team worker, who is equally able to work on their own with excellent planning skills and the ability to anticipate potential obstacles. Highly self-motivated and resilient you will also have strong communication skills. You must live within comfortable commuting distance of Northampton with access to a car and our client is looking for someone who can start immediately.
