Business Development Manager

Bilsthorpe CP, United Kingdom LINEAGE LOGISTICS HOLDINGS, LLC Full time £35,000 - £60,000 per year

Lineage is the world's largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions, employing over 25,000 colleagues globally. We support the supply chains of many of the UK's leading retailers — keeping fridge freezers stocked and essential goods moving.

With 14 sites across the UK, our business has enjoyed long-standing inventory stability. However, we're continuing to grow. A recent example is our Peterborough site, where we've expanded storage capacity from 25,500 to 70,000 pallet spaces and introduced cutting-edge automation to deliver greater customer value and reduce waste.

The Role
To support top line sales growth; we are now looking for a Business Development Manager focus on new business development.

You'll be welcomed into a collaborative and supportive environment, where you'll be introduced to key colleagues and spend time at our sites to gain a deep understanding of how we operate and deliver value to customers.

Once onboarded, your focus will be on building meaningful connections with potential customers – such as Supply Chain Directors – to understand their needs and offer tailored storage and transport solutions. You'll play a critical role in shaping long-term partnerships and ensuring we deliver on our promises.

We can be flexible on your location providing you are able to easily travel through-out the UK to Lineage and customer locations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Proactively contacting and meeting potential customers

  • Managing inbound sales enquiries

  • Responding to formal tenders

  • Creating tailored proposals based on customer requirements

  • Maintaining accurate records in our sales database (CRM)

Most customers are happy to meet via video or phone, but face-to-face interactions still play an important part in building trusted relationships.

Who We're Looking For
This is a relationship-driven industry, so we're looking for someone naturally inquisitive, proactive, and energised by connecting with people. You don't need to be a logistics expert – we can teach you about our business. But if you enjoy asking smart questions and helping customers solve challenges, you'll thrive here.

To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • B2B sales experience with a strong relationship focus

  • Experience working to targets in a structured, professional environment

  • Proven ability to generate leads and manage a sales pipeline

  • An understanding of logistics, warehousing, or supply chain (preferred)

Why Join Lineage?
In addition to a competitive salary, company car, and benefits package, you'll be part of a team that supports one another and celebrates shared success. Our sales team collaborates – we don't compete internally – and we're committed to helping you grow by learning from experienced professionals.

We're also a rapidly expanding global company with exciting opportunities across Europe. You'll benefit from clear career paths, international exposure, and the chance to shape the future of our sales capability.

We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer. At Lineage, we value diversity and welcome people of all backgrounds. Everyone gets fair treatment and equal opportunities—whoever you are, you're welcome here.

Why Lineage?

We are a global company with more than 22,000 employees spanning 20 countries and more than 400 locations across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America.

At Lineage Logistics, we have a shared purpose; we are transforming the food supply chain to eliminate waste and help feed the world. This means working at Lineage is not just a job – it's an opportunity to innovate and put your mark on how food moves from the farm to dinner tables around the world. As a member of our team, you will be a critical link in the food supply chain.

Our shared purpose drives everything we do in all parts of our organisation, from the warehouse floor to the office. Our team members are passionate about the impact they make every single day.

We are an equal opportunities employer and positively encourage applications from persons regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity. At Lineage we also recognise that Ex-Military, veterans, and military families have great experience with transferable skills and core values that can add significant value to our organisation.

Benefits

As a Lineage team member, we aim to provide everything you and your family need to thrive. That's why we offer competitive rates of pay, paid time off, skills training, and development opportunities to grow a long and fulfilling career with us – plus generous financial rewards when you successfully refer new employees. This is enhanced by recognition schemes (so that your hard work won't go unnoticed), plus the chance to make your salary go even further with our cycle-to-work scheme and preferential rates for loans and savings courtesy of a leading credit union.

Your everyday wellbeing is also important to us, so we will provide you with all the protective equipment you need to be safe and comfortable at work, and you will have access to a free 24/7 employee assistance phone line, which offers confidential counselling and advice. With all of this offered against the backdrop of a fun and social environment in which you will be supported by a team who enjoy helping each other in achieving their goals, we are confident you will excel with us.
