Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our construction and refurbishment projects. With a focus on fire protection and related construction roles, you will be responsible for delivering projects on budget and in compliance with legal and safety standards. Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and manage contracts, budgets, and cost estimates for construction and refurbishment projects.
- Handle procurements and manage sub-contractor agreements, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and measurements for fire protection installations and other construction-related tasks.
- Analyse project risks and advise stakeholders on potential cost impacts.
- Monitor changes to designs, assess variations, and update budgets as necessary.
- Collaborate with various project teams to maintain project timelines, quality benchmarks, and cost controls.
- Provide regular financial progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations related to construction and refurbishment projects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess ongoing project progress and quality.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Track expenses and forecast project costs to deliver within approved budgets.
- Drive adherence to fire protection codes and regulations in all construction-related activities.
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to review project milestones and financial performance.
- Update cost plans, risk assessments, and financial records in real-time.
- Proactively identify issues and resolve them before they impact project delivery timelines.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction, refurbishment, or fire protection sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, regulations, and cost control principles.
- Proficiency in using quantity surveying and project management tools/software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with clients, sub-contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
