Wadham Rd London E LU United Kingdom Arsenal Football Club Full time

The Role

We are looking for an Academy Football Analyst to provide insightful and deliverable performance analysis within our Academy, predominantly through the Early Youth Development Phase.

In this exciting role, you'll support and drive standards across all analysis processes at our club's highly reputable Hale End site. You will follow and develop our Academy's relevant analytics processes and workflows, ensuring alignment and optimal standards of quality are achieved.

Who we are

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success – read more about our history, here.

Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Your day-to-day
  • Deliver a best-in-class programme - you will take pride in delivering an elite analysis programme to Early Youth Development Phase players, coaches and wider colleagues, aligned to our values and Academy-wide analysis approach

  • Capture coverage of key moments - you'll be entrusted with the filming and coding of home and away matches and you will oversee the management of training footage capture within own phase and wider phases, in order to provide material to feedback to both players and coaches

  • Contribute to the evolution of training methods - you will develop innovative ways to enhance training coaching opportunities through on-pitch support and/or building drill libraries to support Academy-wide training methodology

  • Input into player development - you'll eagerly support individual player programmes through the use of video and visual information and you will generate content for cyclical reviews and player progress meetings, monitoring player interaction and involvement to further develop working practices

  • Drive engaging feedback to players and colleagues - you will diligently offer feedback to coaches and players around individual performance and areas of strength and improvement

  • Provide materials to champion learning and development - you will offer support to our Coach Developer in the collection of information to enhance the coach development provision, and you'll provide a range of material in the continuous development of our Academy's learning resources, creating assets around playing identity and position-specific profiling, and building databases for best practice libraries

What we are looking for
  • Proven background in football analysis - you come with a credible background of providing football analysis at an elite level and you possess an excellent tactical understanding of football

  • Excellent knowledge of the wider football landscape - you have an in-depth understanding of how football analysis supports our wider club and you have a solid grounding and rounded view of varying working methodologies

  • Credible expertise - you hold a UEFA C Coaching License and you come with a minimum undergraduate degree relating to the fields of Sports Science, Coaching and Performance or Performance Analysis

  • Track record of working at Academy level - you possess demonstrable experience of working with young players and you're well versed in best practice within football analysis at this level

  • Growth mindset - you're equipped with an ability to adapt to emerging technologies and their application in automating working processes and you've got a desire to continuously challenge, learn and move forward

  • Best-in-class communication skills - you're confident in your ability to deliver and communicate performance insights to key colleagues across our club

  • Flexible, adaptable and accurate approach - you are proud of your resilience and your ability to retain a high standard of output in a ever changing fast paced environment
