This gives us a unique competitive advantage and offers our Automation Engineers an extraordinary opportunity to design, build, and commission special purpose machines, taking initial sketches and turning them into fully operational production systems.We are looking for an expert in Industrial Automation programming, specialising in the Beckhoff ecosystem. Your proficiency with these technologies will be critical in developing and optimising automation processes, ensuring precision, repeatability, and long-term reliability. Our machines are programmed using the PackML framework and object-oriented principles, and cover all areas of industrial automation, including PLC programming, HMI development, Motion, Analytics, and the integration of a wide range of sensors and third-party systems. A key part of the role will involve creating, maintaining, and evolving your own reusable function blocks to ensure scalable and maintainable software architectures across multiple machines.
You will join a multi-disciplinary Automation team, working alongside talented and passionate engineers. Your role will involve designing, developing, and validating both new and existing automation programs to ensure they are scalable, robust, and production ready. The machines you deliver will be instrumental in the manufacturing and assembly of highly engineered Power Units including internal combustion engines, electric machines, and batteries built to the highest standards.

Key Requirements:
- BEng or higher in a relevant discipline
- A scientific and systematic approach to software programming
- High resilience and the ability to deliver against demanding timelines
- A strong foundation in Computer Science or related technical areas
- Strong expertise in Beckhoff TwinCAT, along with experience integrating robots and machine vision.
- Demonstrable experience with software version control
- Excellent understanding of automation and manufacturing processes
- Curious, tenacious, and adaptable, with a drive to innovate
- Exceptional communication skills and a team-first mindset
- A desire to challenge and be challenged to broaden your technical expertise
- Desirable - A minimum of 3-5 years of industrial experience.
