London, Greater London, United Kingdom Notting Hill Genesis Full time £45,000 - £60,000 per year

Analytics Engineer

Contract: 6 month fixed term contract – Full time -

Location: Bruce Kenrick House, 2 Killick Street, London N1 9FL

Salary: £59,274 - £65,860 per annum (pro rata) for 35 hours per week.

Job Introduction

At Notting Hill Genesis (NHG), we recognise the pivotal role data plays in transforming lives and improving the services we provide to residents. As an Analytics Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of this innovation — designing and developing data products that enable smarter decision-making and operational excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools within Microsoft Azure, collaborating with colleagues across NHG to build reliable, scalable, and high-quality data solutions that directly impact how we deliver for our resident.

What you'll do

Working within the Information, Systems & Change Directorate, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, models, and analytical products that form the backbone of NHG's data capability. You'll ensure that data is accurate, timely, and trusted — enabling stakeholders to make evidence-based decisions.

You'll partner with technical and non-technical teams to understand business needs, translate them into data-driven solutions, and continually enhance our analytics engineering standards and practices.

How you'll do it

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks.
  • Develop analytics engineering solutions and data products within a medallion architecture, optimising for performance and usability.
  • Own and manage NHG's Power BI platform — ensuring effective operation, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate across data, governance, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Monitor data processes to ensure high availability and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Follow rigorous testing and quality assurance to maximise trust in NHG data.
  • Communicate technical insights in simple, non-technical terms to business stakeholders.
  • Help grow NHG's data management and analytics roadmap, ensuring we remain at the forefront of data innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality analytics solutions that support NHG's strategic objectives.
  • Support data governance, ensuring compliance with NHG's data policies.
  • Maintain documentation, processes, and best practices for all analytics products.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data engineering workflows.
  • Promote a culture of data quality, transparency, and innovation.

The ideal candidate

We believe great service starts with great people. You'll bring curiosity, creativity, and technical excellence — along with a passion for applying data science to make a tangible difference.

Essential:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Proven experience in analytics engineering, data modelling, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with OLAP, reporting, and analytics principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and innovation in data technologies.

What's in it for you?

Once you join us, you'll find plenty of opportunities to grow within our organisation. You'll also have access to a wide range of learning opportunities to help you achieve your full potential.

Benefits include:

  • Excellent annual leave allowance and flexible working opportunities
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay
  • Employee assistance and wellbeing services
  • Health cash plan
  • Staff discounts with leading retailers, gyms, and entertainment venues
  • Interest-free loans (season ticket, tenancy deposit, training)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Life Assurance (4x annual salary)
