Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have experience in supervising staff while ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. You will be responsible for developing and implementing care plans, fostering effective communication with both residents and their families, and supporting the overall wellbeing of our senior residents. You will also be responsible safe handling and administration of medication.

Responsibilities

  • Safe handling and administration of medication for residents.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual care plans and risk assessments tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and leadership to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Foster a warm, friendly environment that promotes dignity and respect for all residents.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in senior care practices.
  • Oversee the day to day running of shift, delegating to junior staff and overseeing.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care home or senior care setting is essential including of administering medication.
  • Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care.
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors, demonstrating empathy and patience at all times.
