About Hillside
Hillside Care Centre is a specialist rehabilitation facility providing both short-term and long-term care to older adults, particularly those living with age-related conditions such as dementia. We aim to deliver exceptional care that improves the quality of life for our residents. Our Cook will play a key role in ensuring that each resident enjoys healthy, tailored meals that meet their dietary needs.
The Role
As our Cook, you will oversee the kitchen operations, ensuring food hygiene standards are met while providing three nutritious meals a day. You will also be responsible for menu planning, accommodating individual dietary preferences and needs, and leading a team of catering assistants.
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with alternate weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the kitchen in compliance with food hygiene standards
- Prepare and serve three healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the individual dietary needs of our residents
- Develop and create menus that are tailored to residents' preferences and requirements
- Manage and lead a team of catering assistants to ensure efficient and high-quality service
What We're Looking For
- Experience in running a commercial kitchen, ideally in the Health and Social Care sector
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
- A flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work alternate weekends
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
