About this role:
Crystal Palace Football Club is seeking a commercially-savvy candidate, with professional experience, ideally in the sporting industry, and a relevant degree - to be its new Marketing Executive and become a vital part of the Marketing & Communications department. The successful candidate will ultimately help us grow our supporter base, deepen engagement with our supporters, whilst also helping drive commercial success for the club.

This is a new and exciting entry-level opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with outstanding communications skills, who has extensive knowledge of football, and who is committed to furthering their career in the sports marketing industry.

The successful candidate will report into the Marketing Campaign Manager, and on a day-to-day basis will be focused on delivering personalised marketing campaigns / promotions / initiatives / information to supporters all over the world, primarily through email.

Example communications to fans include providing crucial matchday information to ticket holders, retail product promotions, premium hospitality and ticket availability, and commercial partner (sponsor) campaigns. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues across both the men's and women's teams – including the Content & Production team, the Design team, and colleagues in the Retail, Premium Hospitality, Partnerships (sponsors), Ticketing departments.

The candidate must have exceptional written communication skills, be well organised, be able to multi-task and meet deadlines, have a can-do attitude, and be willing to develop positive working relationships across the club.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, creating and delivering high standard marketing campaigns (weekly and longer term) to target audiences across multiple channels with a focus on email marketing:

  • Working closely with the in-house Design and Content & Production teams to create engaging campaign material to ensure campaign success

  • Identifying target audiences, and most effective channels (e.g. social media, website, email, SMS) and communicating campaign plans
  • Writing strong, engaging copy
  • Reporting on the success of campaigns and implementing insights into future campaigns

  • Ensure marketing campaigns messaging is consistent across a variety of owned and paid channels, including website and app, social media and stadium screens

  • Providing outstanding service to our fans, by communicating key information in a personalised manner to all supporter groups, such as matchday attendees
  • Delivering all membership benefits for club members such as special events, access to digital matchday programmes, offers etc
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club's policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • A clear passion for football and the Premier League
  • A Bachelor level degree or equivalent in a relevant area – such as Marketing, Business / Economics, or English
  • An understanding of consumer media habits, as well as the various marketing channels to reach audiences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • An eye for detail
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as we operate in a fast-moving environment.
  • Soft skills such self-motivated, proactive, results orientated, and enthusiastic.
  • Commercially driven.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines.
