Bank Pain Specialist Nurse | Outpatients | Band 6 | Spire Hull & East Riding | Bank  

Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pain Specialist nurse to join our experienced and dynamic team. This post offers an exciting opportunity to for an enthusiastic, dynamic nurse with a passion for pain management to join Spire. We offer a variety of surgeries ranging from simple to complex procedures, which require effective pain management to enhance their recovery. An important aspect of the role will be teaching the principles of pain management to a range of healthcare staff.

Outpatients Department hours - Mon-Fri - 08:00-21:00

Sat - 08:00-16:00

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Take responsibility to actively keep up-to-date, develop professional and clinical skills that are required to provide a high standard of pain management.
  • Generate and prioritise own workload, including response to inpatient requirements.
  • To restart and chair pain committee meetings bimonthly with the view of these being held quarterly once established.
  • Support the utilisation of anaesthetic and pain management techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to provide evidence-based pain management.
  • Ensure that clinical practice complies with local procedures and policies.  
  • Audit pain complain

Who we are looking for

  • Be NMC Registered 
  • Clinical experience in relevant area (pain service) at band 6 or above for at least 2 years
  • Specialist knowledge of acute and chronic pain management
  • Participation in quality assurance projects
