The Technical Trainer will design, develop and deliver technical training programmes that meet the needs of the Europe Snacks and its employees while ensuring compliance with customer, legal, and audit requirements. This includes managing and maintaining the Learning Management System (Papaya), supporting audit readiness, and embedding a strong food safety and compliance culture across the Stevenage and Leicester sites.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Development
- Deliver technical training in Food Safety Levels 1, 2 & 3, HACCP Level 2, GMP & Foreign Body Control, Allergen Awareness, Average Weight, GMP & Food Defense
- Work with the Head of L&D and Technical team to design, review & update training material
Training Coordination & Systems
- Maintain and monitor training plans using the Papaya Learning Management System.
- Manage training requests and external course bookings.
- Ensure all training activity is documented, tracked, and reportable for audits.
Training Needs Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct training needs analysis with managers and SMEs.
- Plan training in line with operational needs.
- Create and distribute monthly reports on training activity.
Trainer Oversight & Evaluation
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and performance data.
- Support onboarding across both sites.
- Assess, coach and audit trained trainers.
Audit & Compliance Support
- Support preparation for internal and third-party audits.
- Implement action plans post-audit.
KPIs & Performance Measures
- % compliance in food safety training by site/team
- Audit readiness and training documentation accuracy & reduction in training-related non-conformances
- Trainer performance evaluations and feedback scores
- Completion rates of SOP training by department

Qualifications
Essential:
- Level 4 Food Safety
- HACCP Certified (minimum Level 2) and a Recognised Training Certification (L3 Award in Education & Training (formerly PTLLS)
Experience
- Experience in food manufacturing or a similar regulated environment
- Delivery of food safety and compliance training
- Use of a Learning or Training Management System (e.g., Papaya)
- Creating and reporting on training compliance metrics
Skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Advanced organisation, planning and time management
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to create and deliver content for diverse audiences
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
