Audit Director

About this job
We are looking to recruit an Audit Director with primary responsibility for a portfolio of national and/or local performance audit work covering value for money and the application of the 'sustainable development principle' under the Well-being of Future Generations Act. If you're passionate about accountability and improvement in public services, want to work with great people, and can inspire and empower others, then this is the job for you.
You will be building relationships with those at the very top of the bodies we audit, and those who scrutinise them, to influence positive change. Modelling the values and behaviours that underpin Audit Wales, you will bring the energy and strategic leadership needed to realise our potential as a driver of improvement in Welsh public services. And you will work to ensure our audit approach keeps pace with the modern world and with the issues that matter for people, both now and for the future.
You would have lead responsibility for one or more performance audit teams and for research and development activity in a sector(s) – such as health, local government, or central government – and/or other specific devolved policy areas. And you will contribute to the development and delivery of the wider audit work programme, working with other Audit Directors as appropriate.
The organisation
Audit Wales is the umbrella term describing the Auditor General for Wales and the Wales Audit Office (which are separate legal entities). Audit Wales aims to
