About Us

Abbeydale Dental Care is a well-established, patient-focused dental practice located in the heart of Nether Edge, Sheffield. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional dental care in a modern, supportive, and friendly environment.

We are looking for a friendly, organised and confident Dental Receptionist to join our front-of-house team. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, managing appointments, communications and helping to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome patients in-person, by phone and email, creating a positive first impression.
  • Manage appointment bookings, rescheduling and cancellations efficiently, maximising diary flow.
  • Process payments, handle enquiries, verify patient details and maintain accurate records.
  • Use the practice management software to update patient files, treatment plans and billing.
  • Provide high quality customer service: answer queries, explain treatments, and liaise with clinical team.
  • Support the clinical team as required (e.g., preparing forms, ensuring paperwork is ready).
  • Maintain reception area presentation, ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and support practice operations and special events as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident user of IT and software; experience with dental practice management software (preferably Dentally) is a plus.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Previous customer-facing or administration experience (ideally in a healthcare/dental setting) preferred.
  • A warm and professional manner, high ethical standards and real dedication to patient experience.
  • Flexibility, reliability and team-oriented attitude.

Working hours will be discussed at interview and will support either full-time or part-time patterns.
