Salary: 35000 to 45000 GBP per year

Commute to Office: Hybrid ( 2 to 3 Days in Office)

Role Overview:

The Legal Services Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the firm in compliance with UK accounting standards and Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in a legal or professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations for client and office accounts.

Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, VAT regulations, and internal audit requirements.

Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and year-end financial statements.

Manage billing, trust transactions, and client funds in line with legal and ethical standards.

Liaise with partners, fee earners, and auditors to provide timely financial insights and reports.

Support budgeting, cost control, and financial planning initiatives.

Oversee payroll, supplier payments, and bank reconciliations.

Skills & Qualifications:

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent (part-qualified may be considered).

Proven experience in a law firm or professional services accounting environment.

Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, VAT, and UK GAAP.

Excellent Excel and accounting software skills

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
