Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced IT Infrastructure & Security Manager on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional with a passion for infrastructure and cyber security to step into a leadership role and play a key part in shaping the future of the organisation's IT environment.
The role is based near Driffield, East Yorkshire, and is full-time, Monday to Friday. It offers a competitive salary of £52,000–£55,000, depending on experience.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting robust core technologies while leading a high-performing Infrastructure & Operations team. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, maintaining security, and ensuring the organisation's technology landscape meets both current and future business needs. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring a combination of technical expertise and strategic vision. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop the Infrastructure team, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Planning: Create and own the infrastructure roadmap, introduce emerging technologies, and ensure compliance with best practices and industry standards.
- Project Management: Oversee all infrastructure projects, including budgets and reporting, to ensure successful and efficient delivery.
- Security Management: Protect digital assets by managing security, disaster recovery, backup systems, and compliance processes.
- Infrastructure Optimisation: Monitor, maintain, and optimise on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure to ensure stability, reliability, and scalability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive, innovative approach.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and security operations, with a track record of effective team leadership.
- Advanced technical knowledge across Networking, Cloud Hosting, Domain Services, Virtualisation, Endpoint Protection, and the Microsoft 365 stack.
- Strong understanding of Cyber Security technologies, principles, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Desirable Skills:
- Relevant qualifications, such as Microsoft, VMware, or ITIL certifications.
- Experience with ERP solutions, cloud-based VoIP, and database administration.
- Cyber Security qualifications.
