Location

London Office With an element of working from home. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in Great Britain and not overseas. You will be asked to express a location preference during the application process. Informal hybrid arrangements are available and the balance between home and workplace working is to be agreed with the line manager to achieve the right balance between collaboration, in-person engagement and flexibility.

The postholder is responsible for financing their own travel to and from the London office as and when attendance is required.

Job summary

This post is a temporary loan appointment from mid-January 2026 till 28 February 2027 (to cover a period of maternity leave). You will be providing direct support to the Operations Manager (CAC) covering a range of duties, including creating content for internal and external channels that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, print and broadcast. You will play a key role in enhancing CAC's visibility and engagement across all communication channels — with a particular focus on leading the creation and growth of CAC's new YouTube channel as part of our expanding digital and social media presence. Content produced will need to capture the CAC business objectives. Coming up with ideas to support the CAC business objectives and tracking the impact for the CAC.

The Central Arbitration Committee (CAC) is an independent tribunal with statutory powers chaired by Stephen Redmond. Under the Employment Relations Act 1999, it has been given statutory responsibility to adjudicate disputes over trade union recognition. It has powers in relation to the Information and Consultation Regulations, certain European statutes and it determines claims from trade unions on the disclosure of information for collective bargaining purposes.

Job description

The main accountabilities of this role are to:

  • Lead the development and management of CAC's YouTube channel, launch the channel and continue with ongoing content strategy, ensuring alignment with CAC's brand, tone and business objectives.
  • Film, edit and produce engaging video content tailored to YouTube audiences to drive reach, retention and engagement.
  • Manage and maintain CAC's LinkedIn presence, including posting updates, monitoring engagement, growing followers, and ensuring consistent professional representation of the organisation.
  • Accountable for managing end-to-end process of content creation, including timelines and milestones, keeping internal stakeholders up to date with progress, highlighting issues early and working with colleagues to generate alternative solutions.
  • Write content in plain English to meet the CAC's customers' needs
  • Work with the Operations Manager to come up with new ideas for content production and research latest trends.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the CAC senior leadership team.
  • Project manage the tools and processes needed to ensure effective working of the social media channels, including cross collaboration across different projects, working on SharePoint, using online software like Canva and Adobe software to create content.
  • Carry out research and mapping of CAC priority audiences with the support of the team.
  • Line manager to one G10 Content Creator.

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent video and audio shooting/recording and editing skills, excellent knowledge of editing and shooting software and equipment (cameras, Final Cut Pro/Adobe suite).

Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience managing and growing a YouTube channel or similar video-based platform.
  • Ability to create content from the material provided. This includes taking complex information and reworking it into simple, visual concepts with the relevant language to fit the audience.
  • Knowledge or experience of various editing tools including but not limited to Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Suite and Adobe Premier Pro.
  • A solid understanding of YouTube and LinkedIn algorithms, SEO, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Strong interest in technology, apps, filming and photography.
  • Proficient at using IT systems, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and SharePoint.
  • Highly organised, motivated and able to prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Created content from regulatory/legislative information.
  • Familiarity with diverse social media platforms, including emerging channels.
  • Understanding Google Analytics.
Qualifications

Graphic design and content production or marketing and communication equivalent qualification.

Interview Details

If you have successfully passed sift, you will be invited to an interview via MS Teams which is likely to take place the week commencing 8 December 2025.

Prior to an interview, candidates will be asked to complete an Exercise on creating a video for the CAC using CAC legislation. Further details will be provided to candidates who are shortlisted for interview. This will be used to assess the Technical criteria "Excellent video and audio shooting/recording and editing skills, excellent knowledge of editing and shooting software and equipment (cameras, Final Cut Pro/Adobe suite)."

The interview will be a Behaviour and Strength interview. The assessed Behaviours will be:
