Teaching Assistant – Autism Support

SEN Teaching Assistant

***Paid £480 per week

***Starting September

***Free training in Safeguarding and Autism Support

***Graduate Teaching Assistant

***Support children with SEN

***Monday-Friday – 35 hrs per week

***Long-term role for the full academic year

SEN TA -- Person Specification

***A 2:1 or above degree

***Experience working with children, not necessarily in a school

***Knowledge of SEN/Previous experience supporting children with additional needs

***Spark, energy and enthusiastic personality

***Easy to work with and a good sense of humour

SEN Teaching Assistant -- The Role

Responsibilities

  • Support children with autism in their learning and development through tailored teaching strategies.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet each child's unique needs.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social skills and emotional well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding children's progress and any concerns.
  • Engage in activities that encourage cognitive and physical development, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere.

This is a perfect role for an aspiring Educational Psychologist You will be working within a specialist provision for children with Autism at a successful mainstream school. An interest in Autism is essential and volunteer placements with primary aged children with special needs is a bonus.

The school is located just a short bus ride from Manchester city centre and would be an easy commute on public transport
