  • Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas to ensure a spotless environment.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors using commercial cleaning equipment such as buffers and floor scrubbers.
  • Disinfect surfaces, fixtures, and high-touch areas to prevent the spread of germs and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Empty bins, replace liners, and manage waste disposal efficiently throughout the school premises.
  • Conduct routine janitorial tasks including window cleaning, dusting, and light custodial maintenance to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when stock levels are low to ensure continuous operations.
  • Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Experience

Previous experience of cleaning in schools is essential. All applicants must have an enhanced DBS Certificate.

  • Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning enhances your effectiveness in this role.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment including buffers, extractors, and pressure washers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or light painting can be beneficial but is not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently while adhering to safety guidelines.
