Role Description

The Head of Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and integrating the functions of Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance and Health & Safety across the organisation. This role ensures that procurement strategies align with business objectives, quality standards are consistently met or exceeded, and health & safety policies are robust, compliant and effectively implemented.

The breadth of this role, and the unique range of goods and services provided by the Encocam Group, will require you to be adaptable, flexible, and have a good understanding of the importance of internal communication across all teams.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Procurement / Logistics

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement plans.
  • Oversee warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure value for money.
  • Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure ethical, sustainable and safe practices.

Quality Assurance

  • Lead the development and enforcement of quality standards across all services and products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is embedded in all processes.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and compliance with relevant standards (e.g. ISO).

Health & Safety

  • Promote a culture of safety through training, communication, and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive health & safety management system.
  • Endorse compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Services team.
  • Set and monitor KPIs for Procurement, Logistics, Quality and Health & Safety functions.
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities.

General

  • Co-operate fully with the company regarding all H&S matters and be aware of the importance of complying with H&S Policy to ensure a safe workplace and maintain the integrity of the environment (See P-HS
  • Maintain oversight of systems used, including contract terms and renewal dates, to prevent service or cost issues.
  • You may be required to train other colleagues as and when requested.
  • Any additional work identified as necessary for the smooth operation of the business.

Essential Attributes

  • Proven senior-level experience in a similar operational leadership role.
  • Experienced in contract law, procurement, and financial modelling.
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g. ISO, HSE).
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes in manufacturing and engineering environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and leadership skills.
