London, Greater London, United Kingdom myGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community Full time £80,000 - £120,000 per year

This job is with Wise, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. Please do not contact the recruiter directly.
Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world's money.

Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.
Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

For everyone, everywhere.
More About Our Mission And What We Offer.
To transform how we deliver a world-class, highly automated, and compliant operational

experience for businesses and customers engaging with the Wise Investment Product

(Assets). You'll design and implement a globally scalable, compliant, and cost-effective

operational model and technology backbone to support the massive growth of this "big

bet" product. You'll be a foundational member of a newly established function, critically

bridging our Product and Engineering teams with Operations, with a sharp focus on

industrializing our Investment offerings. This is a unique opportunity to define and

operationalise our Investment Operations from the ground up—you won't be handed a

playbook, you'll write it.

We're seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Head of Business Operations for Assets to

play a pivotal role in designing and optimising the operational efficiency, automation,

compliance, and core processing of our Wise Investment Product. You'll be instrumental

in driving strategic initiatives, building scalable and automated processing workflows,

leveraging data insights, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across our

operational and compliance teams to prepare the product for exponential growth and

successful GTM launches. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a

fast-paced, highly regulated, global, product-led environment.

The ideal candidate will come from an operational leadership role at a FinTech or B2B tech

company, specifically with experience in investment operations or scaling platform

operations within a regulated financial product. They should have experience collaborating

with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance teams to drive robust, compliant, and

highly automated outcomes. They possess a strong understanding of the risk, compliance,

and core operational mechanics of investment offerings and how to build a scalable,

resilient operational organisation in this space.

Here's How You'll Do This
Operational Strategy & Automation

  • Define the vision, scope, and operating model for Investment Product Operations at Wise, in close partnership with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and wider Operations teams.
  • Design and scale the operational processing and servicing lifecycle for investment products (including trade processing, reconciliation, statement generation, and regulatory reporting), focusing on full-stack automation, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and non-automated processes that could challenge our investment product's growth, ensuring maximum efficiency, robust compliance, and effective risk mitigation.
  • Run in-depth analysis of existing workflows, operational cases, and data processing paths to extract key insights and develop solutions for end-to-end operational automation.

Product and Go-to-Market (GTM) Operationalization

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams, advocating for operational and technical scaling considerations and highlighting the impact of product decisions on processing efficiency, system reliability, and scalability.
  • Lead the operational GTM readiness for all new Asset products and features, ensuring that the operational model, tooling, training, and control environment are in place before launch.
  • Partner with Product and Go-to-Market teams to define the operational component of launch plans, guaranteeing operations is a strategic enabler, not a bottleneck.
  • Work closely with Operations teams driving automation and engineering process improvements specifically in investment-related processing to enhance efficiency and prepare for hyper-growth.

Risk, Compliance, and Governance

  • Work closely with Operations and relevant Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams, embedding control and regulatory adherence into automated workflows and constructively challenging manual processes.
  • Take ownership of key operational metrics, including processing throughput, automation rates, cost-to-serve, SLAs, process quality, and the scalability and regulatory adherence of the Investment Product across our global markets.
  • Clearly define success metrics and evaluate progress using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

This Role Will Give You The Opportunity To

  • Build the operational engine – You'll work with your team to create a vision and have the freedom to make your own calls to prepare our Investment Product for its "big bet" growth trajectory by building highly automated core operations.
  • Grow as a leader – Inspire and guide operational and technical team members in support of our mission, particularly in a highly specialised and regulated product area.
  • Gain amazing exposure to the full breadth and depth of our Wise Investment product, including core asset operations, technical integration with partners, regional compliance requirements, and new product launches.
  • Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

Qualifications

  • You're passionate about achieving operational excellence through technology and automation within complex financial products.
  • You're entrepreneurial and hands-on, with a track record of delivering high-impact operational solutions in data-driven environments, utilizing a mix of process design and technical implementation (e.g., configuring workflow tools, designing data pipelines).
  • You are fluent with data, proficient in using spreadsheets and analytics dashboards for insights, and possess strong SQL knowledge to drive deep process analysis.
  • You are adept at analysing technical and qualitative operational data to identify trends and opportunities for automation and system improvement.
  • You understand basic operational economics concepts (e.g., demand-capacity, unit cost) and their application to a highly scalable financial product with low unit costs.
  • You possess a solid understanding of technology, product development, and financial regulation/middle-office operations principles, enabling you to effectively collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams.
  • You have a clear approach to prioritising work, helping teams understand impact, and contributing to a clear operational roadmap that supports aggressive automation and growth goals.
  • You approach problem-solving methodically, enabling clear identification of root cause issues and facilitating effective risk control and mitigation strategies within automated systems.
  • Proven experience in an Operations or FinOps leadership role, ideally within a product-led, global FinTech or B2B company with a focus on investment product processing, scaling infrastructure, or complex regulated operations.
  • Strong commercial and regulatory acumen with demonstrable experience in managing the core operations of financial products.
  • Practical experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale operational projects, particularly those related to scaling and automating core financial infrastructure and GTM readiness.
  • Exposure to and understanding of the potential applications of GenAI and other AI technologies within an operational processing or risk monitoring context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive highly automated, compliant results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in change management and the ability to coach operational teams through significant transitions towards automation.
