Join Our Team as a Charity Shop Supervisor

• 6 months fixed term contract
• 3 days including weekends across our shops in Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross
• £14,285.70 p/a
• 2 hours per week

We are actively recruiting a Charity Shop Supervisor to help raise vital funds for our charity which helps fund IVF treatment to people in the UK and increase the profile of our charity within the community. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your retail skills with a role that truly makes an impact.

About the Role:

As a part-time supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of our charity shops in Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross In Hertfordshire.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising and motivating a team of enthusiastic volunteers

Managing stock, including sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items for sale

Ensuring smooth shop administration and compliance with health and safety standards

Your time will be hands-on in the sort room and shop floor, ensuring that there is always sufficient product on the shop floor and items ready to go out to be sold

Day-to-day management of the shop and voluntary staff and presentation of shop to create a safe and attractive environment for staff and customers

Control of stock items from donation through sorting, pricing and steaming to shop floor

Build good working relationships amongst staff and volunteers to maximise their potential and commitment to the success of the shop

Engage with customers who donate to and purchase items from the shop to create a welcoming environment that encourages their return business

With support from our Head of Retail, promote and communicate the work of the charity, fundraising events and campaigns to staff and customers

Training on use of till, card machines, gift aid and income processes

There are 2 charity shops in Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross, In the borough of Broxbourne in Hertfordshire The role will be rostered across both of our stores but requires flexibility to cover where needed.

We are looking for people with previous retail management and retail charity experience preferably.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in retail or sales environments with supervisory responsibilities
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual candidates are preferred
• Demonstrable organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and administrative tasks
• Experience in supervising staff, managing sales targets, and implementing operational procedures
• Proficient in time management to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
• Knowledge of retail management systems and basic administrative software is advantageous
• Previous experience in merchandising, customer service excellence, and staff training is desirable
• Strong organisational skills coupled with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
