Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom Western Power Distribution Full time £60,000 - £100,000 per year
Job Introduction

The GB energy system is rapidly transforming as we target Clean Power by 2030 and NetZero by 2050. The distribution network is vital in this transformation as we look to accommodate thousands of electric vehicles and heat pumps in people's homes and connect large volumes of solar and wind. This will require us building out our network at a rate we have not seen this century. And, as one of the Distribution Network Operators, we have a key role to play in the Great Grid Upgrade - it's an essential part in enabling the accelerated strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects across England and Wales.

We have four exciting opportunities for EPC Project Managers to join our newly formed ASTI Projects team in Field Operations, focusing on delivering major infrastructure projects. Ideally, candidates will be based in the East Midlands area.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the consenting, development, and delivery of strategically critical, high-value, and complex projects or programmes. Your goal will be to ensure these projects are completed safely, on time, to the highest quality standards, and within budget, all while enhancing National Grid's reputation in the Electricity Distribution market.

You will play a key role in managing health, safety, and environmental issues throughout the National Grid Electricity Distribution ASTI Portfolio, ensuring that projects meet the business's regulatory, stakeholder, and customer commitments.

  • Manage the Contractor commissioning and performance testing process on site. Ensure the provision of accurate 'as built' documentation to handover of the assets onto the system to the standards defined in the design.
  • Manage standard and routine third-party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations and Community Stakeholders to preserve National Grid reputation.
  • Maintain full relevant authorisation to carry out duties
Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience in leading major engineering, construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
