The Role

As a Software Architect, you will oversee the full software development lifecycle, taking ownership of the design, planning, implementation, and validation of the SkyNet 6 New Management System (NMS), in alignment with the project's delivery framework.

This system serves as the operational backbone for managing satellites that support Britain's global communications infrastructure for Government services.

Collaborating closely with the Lead Systems Test Engineer, Lead Test Engineer, Quality Assurance team, and Project Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering robust software solutions within tight timelines across multiple project phases.

The Software Architect will manage a team of Software Engineering resources to help deliver each work package on time. Responsibilities Include:

• Acting as Product owner for software delivered into in-service environments.
• Work closely with the Quality Team to ensure our solution meets or exceeds the criteria specified by our customer.
• Work closely with the Lead Test Engineer to verify that the system meets the specification.
• Work closely with Lead Systems and Software Engineers to develop the solution.
• Mobilising and maintaining software development teams to deliver against the requirements of successful bid opportunities.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Hawthorn, Corsham. Majority of the role can be remote.

Essential experience of the Lead Software Engineer

• You must have experience leading a large Software Team.
• You must have hands-on experience with C and C++.
