The role is part of our Service Analytics a subfunction of Enterprise Service Lifecycle Management (ESLM). ESLM is your go-to team for ensuring seamless, efficient, and data-driven IT Service Management. We bring together Assurance, Pre-Live, and Service Analytics functions, to deliver reliable, innovative, and optimised services.

Job Description
As IT Asset Management Assurance, you will play a critical role in ensuring HMRC's IT assets are managed effectively, securely, and in alignment with organisational needs. You will support the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Practice in delivering an ITIL4-aligned strategy, enabling HMRC to optimise IT investments, reduce risk and improve compliance. You will work across a federated model, engaging with stakeholders, suppliers and service owners to assure asset lifecycle processes and drive continual improvement.

You will support the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Practice in delivering an ITIL4-aligned strategy, enabling HMRC to optimise IT investments, reduce risk and improve compliance. You will work across a federated model, engaging with stakeholders, suppliers and service owners to assure asset lifecycle processes and drive continual improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee IT asset lifecycle processes, ensuring alignment with HMRC's evolving IT needs.
  • Support the Practice Manager and Owner in delivering strategic ITAM objectives.
  • Assure compliance with software licensing, contracts, regulations and internal policies.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across the ITAM Practice, service communities and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure effective asset management.
  • Drive continual improvement and maturity of ITAM practices.
  • Monitor and report on asset data quality, utilisation and compliance.
  • Act as an escalation point for ITAM-related issues and risks.
  • Govern ITAM processes in line with ITILv4 and CDIO value streams.
  • Provide clear, actionable reporting and insights to support decision-making.
  • Responding to adhoc requests for information and reporting.
  • Co-ordinate day-to-day with cross-functional teams to manage benefit realisation of IT Asset Management review processes.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable experience in IT Asset Management & IT Asset Management assurance across software and hardware within a large, complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of ITILv4 and its application to asset lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships; engage, communicate, influence, problem solve and lead decision making across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of implementing and assuring collection and management of relevant data / information to drive compliance and support ITAM maturity activities.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.

Desirable Criteria

  • ITILv4 Foundation or Practitioner certification.
  • Experience in a federated or multi-disciplinary IT environment.
  • Regularly communicate across IT asset owners and the IT Asset Management Practice Community.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics, OKRs, and benefits realisation frameworks.
