Based out of Salford, you will lead a team of engineers and be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities across multiple sites.
What you will be doing
As Engineering Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day and strategic maintenance operations across multiple North West sites. You'll be hands-on when needed, but focused on driving consistency, efficiency, and team development.
- Manage maintenance activities across fixed and mobile plant at multiple sites.
- Lead and balance both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Plan works, allocate tasks, and coordinate resources to minimise downtime.
- Support your team on the tools where necessary, setting the standard for quality and safety.
- Implement consistent processes and maintenance standards across all locations.
- Use data and asset management systems to monitor performance and drive improvements.
- Deliver cost-effective, safe maintenance while collaborating with regional teams.
- Develop your team through training, coaching, and preparing for future apprenticeships.
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture across all maintenance operations.
About You
You're an experienced engineering leader with a good maintenance background. You know how to lead people, manage workloads, and keep operations running smoothly across multiple sites.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering lead role
- Able to plan and deliver both reactive fixes and preventative strategies.
- Comfortable managing teams and supporting them on the ground when needed.
- Organised and analytical, with a good grasp of maintenance systems and KPIs.
- Strong communicator, confident engaging at all levels from shop floor to senior leaders.
- Safety-conscious, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement.
