This internship offers genuine insight into corporate transactions, financial analysis, and deal structuring whilst working flexible UK hours that fit around your schedule. If you're passionate about mergers and acquisitions, business development, and want to build a competitive advantage in your finance career, this is your gateway opportunity.

Conducting cold calling campaigns to prospect potential acquisition targets and partners

Drafting and sending strategic cold emails to business development prospects

Assisting with business development activities, including prospect identification, outreach, and qualification

Contributing to presentation materials and investment memoranda

Learning transaction documentation and deal lifecycle management

You'll collaborate directly with our experienced M&A team, gaining mentorship on deal evaluation, negotiation tactics, client relationship management, and sales development—skills that significantly accelerate your finance career trajectory.

Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and numerical aptitude

Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling fundamentals

Keen interest in corporate finance, M&A transactions, and business development

Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills—comfortable making cold calls and outreach

Resilient and self-motivated with a genuine interest in sales and business development

Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, client-facing environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage your time effectively working independently in a remote setting

UK-based with availability for flexible part-time hours

What You'll Gain

✓ Practical M&A Experience: Direct exposure to real transactions and deal processes rarely available to junior talent

✓ Financial Modelling Skills: Develop advanced Excel capabilities and valuation techniques used by investment professionals

✓ Business Development & Sales Training: Master cold calling, email outreach, prospect qualification, and pipeline management—core competencies in finance and entrepreneurship

✓ Professional Network: Build relationships within the M&A community, develop business development contacts, and gain industry connections

✓ Career Acceleration: Internship completion significantly enhances your CV for graduate finance roles, equity research, investment banking, business development, and corporate development positions

✓ Mentorship: Work alongside seasoned M&A professionals who actively invest in your development

✓ Flexible Learning: Gain invaluable experience whilst maintaining flexibility around existing commitments

Role Details

Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours (typically 12–20 hours per week, negotiable)

Duration: Internship programme 20-24 weeks, with possibility for extension

Location: Remote (UK hours)

Compensation: Unpaid internship (this role is educational in nature, designed to provide hands-on training, business development exposure, and career development rather than replace a paid position; consider gaining a Level 4+ professional finance qualification in tandem)

Why Join Us?

Our M&A Group specialises in mid-market acquisition strategy and deal origination. We pride ourselves on nurturing emerging talent and have successfully placed numerous interns into graduate finance roles, private equity analyst positions, investment banking programmes, and business development careers.
