Support Worker

Winchmore Care Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our Supported Living team. We specialise in providing care for adults with autism and learning disabilities, promoting independence, dignity, and a high quality of life in a safe and person-centred environment.
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives, supporting them with daily tasks, routines, and community engagement — all while building trusting, respectful relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily living skills such as personal care, dressing, and hygiene in a respectful, empowering way.
- Assist with medication management, following correct protocols.
- Encourage independence with meal planning and preparation based on individual preferences and needs.
- Use positive behaviour support techniques to promote calm, respectful interactions.
- Help individuals access the community safely and confidently, including appointments, activities, and outings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment.
- Keep accurate daily records and report any concerns or changes in behaviour or health.
- Build genuine, positive relationships with the people you support, encouraging confidence and self-esteem.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, or complex needs is highly desirable.
- A kind, patient, and resilient nature with a person-centred approach.
- Understanding of safeguarding, dignity in care, and positive behaviour support.
- Confidence in administering medication (training can be provided).
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Organised, reliable, and passionate about empowering others.
