The role
As a Support Worker you will:
- Support people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling lives, promoting their independence, dignity and choices.
- Assist with daily living tasks: personal care (if required), meal preparation, house-keeping, budgeting, tenancy maintenance and community access.
- Encourage and accompany individuals in social, leisure, educational or employment activities in line with their support plans.
- Maintain accurate records
What we're looking for
- We are looking for staff who can drive the cars of the people we support to their activities and appointments.
- A caring, flexible and reliable individual with a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, empathy and a respectful, person-centred approach. Learning Disability
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently, adapting to different needs and situations.
- Willingness to work varied shifts (including evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties).
- [Desirable but not essential] Previous experience of working in supported living or with adults with learning disabilities; training in moving & handling or personal care.
