Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and pleasant environment for colleagues and Service Users.
  • Ensure the facility, including all communal areas and furnishings, is clean, hygienic, and tidy at all times.
  • Carry out routine cleaning duties in accordance with the agreed cleaning schedule.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely and appropriately.
  • Adhere to COSHH regulations when using and storing cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Report any defects, faults, or maintenance requirements relating to cleaning equipment, furnishings, or fixtures promptly.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate cleaning and laundry supplies are available at all times.
  • Carry out laundry duties, including:
  • Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing of personal clothing and linens.
  • Ensuring correct use of laundry equipment and detergents.
  • Returning laundered items to the correct locations promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order in the laundry area.
  • Dispose of waste and used materials in line with health and safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Support infection prevention and control measures across the facility.
  • Respond to ad-hoc cleaning or laundry requests as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience in operating a range of cleaning and laundry equipment.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Awareness of infection control standards in a care or communal environment (preferred).
  • Ability to follow schedules and instructions accurately.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Respectful, reliable, and committed to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £12.21 per hour
