Responsibilities:
- Help shape the next generation of automated carbon accounting tools. You'll design and implement scientifically robust methodologies and models that power our Product and Corporate Carbon Footprinting solutions. Working closely with data, product, and engineering teams, you'll ensure that our LCA methods are accurate, scalable, and compliant with leading standards.
- Improve and maintain robust methodologies for product and corporate carbon accounting (e.g. GHG Protocol, ISO 14067, ISO 14044, ISO14025, AFOLU, PACT, TfS), ensuring scientific accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards.
- Source, align, and validate climate and LCA data to support high-quality emissions modelling for Product and Corporate Footprints.
- Build and refine parameterised models and calculations for an automated Product Carbon Footprinting solution.
- Translate complex climate and LCA concepts into actionable product features and insights, working closely with product, data, and engineering teams.
- Develop and improve procedures for measuring and communicating uncertainty and data quality in PCF calculations.
- Contribute to internal documentation, team learning, and customer education on carbon accounting best practices.
- Ensure methodologies and outputs meet key disclosure and compliance requirements.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in LCA modelling or deep, practical knowledge in industrial ecology.
- Master's or PhD in Industrial Ecology or adjacent Environmental programs.
- Competency in programming languages, ideally Python, and comfort with large datasets and automated data harvesting.
- Experience with LCA software such as Brightway, GaBi, or OpenLCA.
- Deep knowledge of LCA databases such as Ecoinvent, Carbonminds, Agribalyse, or LCA data commons.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to lead R&D tasks and support product management in setting requirements.
- Experience building parameterised emissions models using LCI data and handling data gaps, allocation, and sector nuances.
£50,000 - £70,000 base. Actual base pay may vary based on various factors such as location, job-related knowledge, skills, level and experience. The base pay is just one component of the total competitive compensation package for employees.
